Decal Review
This sheet offers markings for the following options:
• Ventura GR Mk V (Bombing & Gunnery Trainer), '2195, GM•N, Air Armaments School, RCAF Trenton, circa early 1950s
• Ventura GR Mk V Target Tug, '222', Air Armaments School, RCAF Sea Island, B.C., from February 1948
• Ventura GR Mk V Target Tug, '2254', DK•Q, Air Armaments School, RCAF Trenson, late 1940s/early 1950s (this is the later marking style)
• Ventura GR Mk V (Bombing & Gunnery Trainer), '2263', DK•R, Air Armaments School, RCAF Trenton, late 1940s/early 1950s
The instructions sheets offer a mass of narrative and photographic details for each option, with drawings for things like the Combination Marker Range aerial array etc. These are in B&W here, but colour versions can be downloaded from the Aviaeology website.
There are three decal sheets in this set, the larger one contains the bulk of the unique and national markings, the smaller two offer black serials on one and roundel centres and fin flashes on the other. All the images are beautifully printed with perfect register and colour and the carrier film is clear, glossy and does not extend much past any image. No airframe or propeller stencils are included.
Conclusion
An excellent set with some very useful options and with the Revell kit out there they are well timed. You can also get these options as a 1/72nd (#AOD72035, Can$11.79) sheet as well from Aviaeology.
