Kit Review
Eduard first produced this ZA version back in 2003 and it is back once again in this simplified series without photo-etched or masks. Inside the box you will find a single sprue of clear plastic and two in dark grey-coloured plastic. Surface detail is via engraved lines, but no rivets. Interior detail is sparse, but sufficient and in this edition you get decals to go on each instrument panel. There are no wheel wells in the wing or fuselage, mainly because the doors for the former only open during retraction and extension, but that does mean that those areas that are open are not depicted as such in this kit. It is not a great problem, as you can’t see it once the kit is built, but be aware of it if you are expecting full wheel wells. Oddly there are no ‘Super Fabric’ seat belts in this kit, and we thought these were going to be standard in all releases in this series, however we suspect the fact that it needs two sets would have made the end price too high? You can buy these belts separately though (#73030 £3.30)
The kit offers two colour schemes; ‘2430’, 1st ‘Tiger’ Squadron, 11th Fighter Regiment, Czechoslovak Air Force, Zatec AB, 1991; ‘NL-44’, 618th Advanced Training Squadron, Algerian Air Foce, Tafaoui AB. The decals are beautifully printed and come with a complete set of airframe stencils

Conclusion
The Weekend Edition series offers excellent value for money and even without the Super Fabric seat belts in this particular one, it is still worth adding to your collection
