Kit Review
This is a new tooling from Sword, and follows on from their excellent Gannet AEW Mk 3 (see our review here). Inside the box are four dark grey-coloured sprues plus one of clear, and two resin ejection seat. Surface detail is via fine engraved lines and the interior is nicely detailed, with this all being mainly in plastic and just the ejection seats in resin. Oddly these seats have no harness details, but there is no etched fret included, so you will have to go elsewhere to find a suitable set of belts. Most of the interior is black anyway, so a bit of careful painting and dry-brush work should bring all the moulded detail to life. The wheel wells have the inner doors moulded shut, whilst the outer section has the ribs and internal structure moulded into the inside of the upper wing halves. You have the option of the wings with or without wing tanks via a separate tip or a multi-part tank. Mid-span tanks are also included, although the option that potentially should have them is not shown with them installed in the instructions, so their ultimate use is up to you. All the undercarriage parts are well formed and the wheels are split vertically, plus the yoke for the nose oleo is separate, which makes painting the wheel easier and more effective. All the clear parts have good clarity and the canopy comes in two parts, so you can pose it open if you wish.

Colour Options
There are two schemes in the kit.
• XW287, 'P', No.6 FTS, 1981
• XW424, 'White 52', The Swords Aerobatic Team, NO.3 FTS, RAF Leeming, 1974

The decals are nicely printed by Techmod with perfect register and colour. They are all nice and shiny, with the metallic of the sword for option 2 being very well done and the sheet includes a full set of airframe stencils.

Conclusion
A very nice kit and one that allows you to add an up-to-date Provost to the collection at last. We highly recommend this to all RAF modellers with experience of this type of mixed medium product.
