Kit Review
This is a straight reissue of a kit that first appeared back in 2005 and was, at the time, heralded as the 'last' ProfiPACK, although events were to prove this otherwise! Inside the box you will find four finely moulded sprues in a medium grey-coloured plastic. Surface detail combines engraved lines for panel demarcation, raised brackets and other such fixtures and subtle raised ribs on the flying surfaces. Smaller details come as etched, with things like the crew seats, belts, ring and bead sights and the bomb racks and bomb fin stays.
The kit offers four decal options:
• D-8084, No.139 Squadron RAF, flown by Capt. S. Dalrymple and 2nd Lt C. Beagle, Italy, August 1918
• B1134, No.34 Squadron RFC, February 1918
• C-4695, No.2 SAFG/No.4 ASAG, Marske, England, 1918
• C-4619, No.62 Squadron RFC, flown by 2nd Lt PR WE Staton and Lt H.E Meritt, (25.5 confirmed victories), France, early 1918
The decal sheet is nicely printed with perfect register and colour density and it includes a full set of airframe stencils. A set of die-cut self-adhesive masks for the wheel hubs and the red panels on the upper wing surface of the first decal options are also included.
Conclusion
It is good to have this kit back, because it remains THE choice for the type in this scale. It is therefore highly recommended to all WWI modellers.
