Kit Review
This is a brand new set of figures from ICM, obviously created with their forthcoming 1/32nd Gladiator in mind!

In the box you will find a single grey-coloured sprue containing twenty-one parts that makes up three figures. The poses of these figures are as per the box top illustration, so one standing with flying gear and helmet/goggles one, another seated in the aircraft with oxygen mask on and the final one standing without flying helmet or 'Mae West' on in a rather relaxed pose with pipe in hand.
The quality and finesse of the moulding is excellent, see the accompanying images for close-ups of the facial features of each figure - they are very good indeed. Careful painting will be the key and as usual the instructions list all necessary colours by Revell and Tamiya paint ranges, so you can substitute your preferred range if needs be. The only comment we would make is that the flying goggles as moulded are wrong, while the illustration on the box top is correct - the moulded parts look more akin to modern ski goggles (oblong with slightly rounded corners), whilst the real things had a pronounced angle to each inner lower corner an a wide (rubber) flange around it. Not quite sure on the first standing pilot either, because he is shown with the flying helmet on and what we presume to be the R/T lead in his right hand, however we are pretty sure the ear pieces in WWII era helmets had the leads permanently attached via two (screw-in) poles [check your references, as it is over a decade since we studied one of these helmets]?

Conclusion
This is an excellent set, you just need the skills to paint figures convincingly to get the best out of it. It is certainly one to be recommended to all and we are sure each figure will find a ready home when you consider the number of suitable subjects now available in 1/32nd scale.
