This introduction set allows you to create realistic rust effects by actually creating a chemical reaction with metal powder.

The system works by applying the surface bonder to the model, then before it dries you apply the copper or iron powder (to full saturation) and once satisfied you apply the activator and in 10-15 minutes the metal powder will corrode. Once the desired effect is achieved, wash off the activator and to fix it, you can either use some more of the binder, or a varnish (probably solvent-based would be best, as water based on rust may cause additional 'effects' before it dries?).

The system is designed for application of the binder using the sponge supplied, but you can do it with a brush if you wish. Using an airbrush would require the binder to be thinned and for that they recommend their special thinner (FK55).

Having used a similar system a few years back that was in the craft world (called 'antiquing effect' back then!), we suspect this system will be equally effective. Just be careful using it and heed all warnings, as the activator is harmful (all warnings are clearly printed on the side of the spray bottle).
