Book Review
This new hardback title is in an A4 format and offers 368 pages. As the title states, this is a history and detailed technical study of the Fi 156 Storch, as well as post-war Morane-Saulnier built examples.

The text is in French throughout, including photo and profile captions. It is very detailed with a list of all the Fi 156 variants, then data on the various field sets etc., followed by a detailed technical study that uses illustrations from the manual and close-up period images. The Fi 256 is also covered, then it is time for the MS 500, 501 and 502. Again, these all get the same technical coverage and there is a wealth of period images included (there is a 30-page photo section offering just period images of Luftwaffe Fi-156s). The MS 500/501/502 coverage is very detailed and it nice to see this aspects of the types history covered - even one launching SS10 missiles! There is a very useful section on camouflage and markings for the MS 500/501/502 and again you get a mass of period images (some in colour) for this series. The appendices include a big bibliography, scale drawings and a list of every MS 500/501/502 built and their ultimate fates. The title is rounded off with twenty pages of colour side profiles, done nice and big, with just one per page.

Conclusion
This is a superb title offering the French story to the history of the Storch. The depth of information is only slightly limited by the French text (and with translation programmes readily available nowadays, even that is not a huge problem), but the pictures are well worth it on their own, so it is highly recommended to all fans of Luftwaffe aircraft or the Storch in general.
