This boxed set offers highly detailed open gun bays for the new-tooled Wildcat kit from Eduard. There are twenty-one 3D-printed resin and five etched components. As the Eduard kit was deigned form the outset for sets like this, cutting will be minimal. In this late -3 version you have two types of front cowl ring, the one with the small air intake built under the top lip and intercooler intakes on either (lower) side, or the version with the external air intake at the top and intercoolers at the side. The rear of each cowl has three flaps at the top and one at the bottom, all of which are supplied separately here. The etched sprue includes the ignition harness, drive for the propeller governor and linkage at the rear of the engine. You will need to source wire of various diameters to create various pipework inside the cowls, but the air intakes are all shown full-length and there is detail inside the cowl elements, so this is a set designed for the advanced/experienced modeller.
