Book Review
This new soft-back title is in an A4 format and 288 pages. As the title states, this is the second part of the history of this unit and cobvers operations from May 1942 through to the end of the war in May 1945 in North Africa and the Mediterranean, Russia and on the Western Front.  Lehrgeschwader 1 was a multi-purpose training wing operating fighters, bombers and dive-bombers, although this second volume covers exclusively their use of the Junkers Ju 88.

The text is in French throughout, including photo and profile captions, it is very detailed and details operations by the unit on a monthly basis combined with a mass of period images and a selection of modern colour side profiles and maps. The appendices list known losses from 04-42 to 04-45, the Werknummer of the Ju 87s, Bf 110s, He 111s and Ju 88s known to have been used by LG1 and all the names of those who flew with LG 1 during the 1939-1945 period, holder of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross within LG 1 and a list of squadron and group commanders.

Conclusion
This is a superb excellent title, covering the operational history of a unit as well as the personal aspects of all those involved. The depth of information is limited only by the French text (and with translation programmes readily available nowadays, even that is not a huge problem), but the pictures are well worth it on their own, so it is highly recommended to all Luftwaffe fans.
