Book Review
This is the first part in a two-part coverage of Japanese floatplanes in combat during WWII. The text is French throughout, including all photo captions, and it is broken down to first take a detailed look at the Nakajima A6M2-N Type 2 Model 11 floatplane fighter, then it switches to operational coverage by looking at operations in an around the Solomon Islands, followed by the June 1942 to April 1943 period of operations around the Aleutian Islands.
Each section combines a historical narrative with a good number of period images and side modern side profiles. The coverage is not one-sided, as USAAF, USN and USMC forces are also featured with a good mix of period images and modern side profiles.

Conclusion
This seems an excellent series and this latest addition is certainly packed with information. The French text does mean the appeal of the title is limited, but with both overall shots of operations and period photographic coverage, it is certainly still worth having if you are at all interested in Japanese floatplane operations during WWII.
