Book Review
This is the latest title in the Avions Hors-serie (No.45) and it covers Me 262 losses during WWII. It is in an A4 softback format with 136 pages and contains 200+ photos. These photos are mainly black and white, but there are a good number of colours ones as well though. The narrative is in French throughout, coverage for the bulk of the title is in date order, from August 1942 right through to the end of WWII and beyond. Each entry is then followed by the machine or machines involved, listed by W/Nr. and codes if known, along with details of the pilot and the extent of the damage/loss. This does mean you will have some aircraft with more than one entry, as they may have been damaged a number of times, repaired and then finally lost in flight, combat or to Allied bombing. Where possible a period image of the subject aircraft is included, and these are sometimes supplemented with colour side profiles. From page 98 there is a list for each machine, but this time set out in W/Nr. order, with accompanying text to tell you of its ultimate fate. This section includes a good selection of images showing Me 262s captured or in the post-war period. The next section from page 110 is entitled 'Units that used the mM 262' and as the title suggests this looks at all the Luftwaffe units that evaluated and operated the type. Page 119 has a map showing all the know bases for the Me 262 and from page 121 there is a list of all Allied fighter and reconnaissance pilots claims of Me 262s.

Conclusion
This is an extremely interesting book that is ideal for any of you interested in the Me 262 in general, as well as in specific airframes.
