Kit Review
This is a reissue of the F-2 kit from 2016 in this simplified 'Weekend Edition' range.

Inside the box you will find one clear and four dark grey-coloured plastic sprues, there is no photo-etched fret or masks. The full-colour instructions take you though assembly over six pages and colours are highlighted throughout via the Gunze-Sangyo Mr Aqueous Hobby Color and Mr Color ranges. Breakdown of the kit is as per the other F-series in the range, nothing has changed there, however without etched things like the instrument panel used moulded detail with a decal overlay and the seat belts are purely decals. There are no etched components for the radiator, nor details for the oleo legs, its all pure moulded plastic, although there is nothing wrong with that as the detail is very good. There is no ordnance nor a drop tank and the only real option the kit has is wether to have the canopy posed open or closed.

The kit offers two decal options:
• W/Nr.5530, 'Yellow 8', flown by Fw. Heinz Jahner, 9./JG2, Ligescourt, France, June 1941
• 'White 10' of 7./JG54, Soviet Union, summer 1941
The decal sheet, printed by Eduard, is excellent and has perfect register and colour density. As usual swastikas are in two parts on the main sheet and complete on the top right hand corner, so the latter can be cut off in those countries that ban the symbol. There is also a separate sheet containing a complete set of airframe stencils.

Conclusion
This is an excellent kit, even without all the etched, and is certainly THE choice for the type in 1/48th today. This simplified version will suit all skills levels and so it is highly recommended to all WWII Luftwaffe modellers.
